I love the simplicity of the pattern.<br /><br />I tend to piece my backings - nothing fancy, but I put two pieces of neutral coloured fabric together with a 'racing stripe' down the middle. Like a previous post mentioned I try to keep it under 2.00 a yard unless it's a quilt I'll keep for an heirloom. I don't have a lot of backing fabric either.
