You'll probably have to click on the picture to see the problem better. I'm doing the "elastic overlock stitch" on this Wheeling Triangles block and every so often it skips a stitch. I changed the needle and the bobbin, still doing it. Any one have any ideas? I was on a roll with this cute quilt.
I got nothin! but I love the stitching and think its going to turn out great! Sorry I can't help! Love the picture of the jars from your previous post!
The only reason I know would cause skipped stiches like this is if you're using a defective or wrong type of needle. Have you tried using a ball point or stretch needle? The stitch sure looks cute on your project. Hope you can figure out what's wrong.
Does the book for your machine have a trouble-shooting section that may mention skipped stitches? Hope you figure it out...although I don't think it is ruining this particular project, so don't get overly stressed about it right now, okay?
The pic is a little blurry when I enlarge it, but it seems it is making the hole- just not connecting the thread in it. Are you sewing fast? if so try slowing down. (but I don't think that is it)
Not sure what would cause that. I can see why it would be frustrating.
I agree with the above. The needle is doing its thing, but the bobbin thread isn't keeping up. I just had this problem and these were the suggested fixes: wrong or dull needle, needle set too high, dust/debris under sole plate (especially under bobbin). Turned out I was using the wrong bobbin altogether. Who knew?

ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the needle...I agree!

I would try a sharp needle, not a ball point, and maybe you need a larger size needle. I guess you'll just have to play around til it works.
