My New Best Friend

What is this strange "tool" you ask?  It's a Dritz Point Turner and Seam Creaser.  I don't use it for either of those things.  I use it to crease, just not seams.  It's my cheat tool for quilting.  I saw a Hera Marker on someone else's blog spot and loved it and it's use.  You use it against a ruler, as you would a pen or pencil and mark your quiliting lines.  How cool!!  I didn't know there was such a thing.  Then again, I'm just 4 years into my "sewing career".

So, we set out for the city today for a Dr's appt for my husband and when we go there, I take advantage of the trip and always go to JoAnns.  I was in a dead search for a Hera Marker.  No one in the store knew what it was or what it was for.  It was literally like I was speaking a foreign language.  They didn't have the actual Hera Marker, however I knew they had it online and would order it as soon as I got home.  I did find the pictured Creaser.  It was much cheaper than the marker and I just had to see if something like this really does work.  I've been using a white crayon and it's leaving to much residue behind on the fabric.

The creaser does work, I've tested it, tried it and all is well.  However, I had also ordered the Hera Marker and I'm awaiting it's arrival.

  1. I'd like to hear more about this after you've used it for a while. I'm new to any kind of sewing but thought this tool might be helpful with quilting.
