I love Fat "Boys" Quaters

Huh?  You say.....as I've told many of you, my husband calls fat quarters "fat boys".  And now it's stuck with me.  Any who............

My local Quilt shop has fat quarters for $1.00 a piece.  Normally, it's old styles and such.  But hey......I'm not in style, never have been and never will be.  I have my own style.  And NO, I can't even tell you the name of any of these either.  That's another thing I don't go by.  I see on some blogs, they know the name of the fabric line and who made it.  I haven't a clue.   If I like the fabric, I get it.  Then again, I like all fabric.  I think I'm addicted!  Do they have a support group for that?  Anyone know?

My MIL has a huge box of fabric for me.  Two problems....she's in California....and the box is too heavy to ship.  We were hoping for a trip out there in April.  However, my husband's truck went to he** in a hand basket.  So we had to get him another one.  Soooooo..........no trip to Cali.  I WANT THAT FABRIC........DANG IT!!  (I'm ok, really....I am)

  1. Tell your MIL it would be cheaper for her to ship the fabric than for your husband to buy a new truck hehe. Or maybe she can visit you and bring it along...?

You know, Tonya, the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. Are you sure you want to recover from your fabric addiction?

I'm with you - if I like it, I'll buy it. I don't really care who made it!

  2. My friend has broken down large amounts of fabric and then shopped them MEDIA MAIL rate (which is for books, but I don't think they check what is in the box) and it is CHEAP and, usually, it does NOT take forever to get here (which is what media mail can take...forever). Maybe your MIL can check out that way to ship them. And...I like your fat boys!!! I don't worry if I have the newest fabric, because.....99% of the time, I don't use it when it's new and my fabric sits in my stash closets and drawers for ages anyway, so I may as well buy OLD fabric. LOL

  3. What a deal on fat boys!

My dad used to ship heavy boxes of oranges to his friends via Greyhound. It was cheap! You may want to check into that.

  4. have her ship it in a flat rate box. Well, depending on how much there is, it could save a lot. WEight doesn't matter, it just has to fit in the box without changing the shape of the box. (The boxes are free at the Post Office.)
