I can Cross Stitch Too!

Becky posted this on her Facebook wall, wishing her kids knew how to stitch.
I saved it, and have looked at it every day since she posted it.

I didn't have any cross stitch cloth, hoops or embroidery floss.
I headed to Michael's in Boone yesterday and got all I needed to make this.

Thanks to Jackie for getting me started on separating the floss strands.
I had a knotted mess.

Here's what I have so far.

I love the humor in this stitching..........

My FIL was a machinest for Jelly Belly....we still reap the rewards. LOL Looks like your time spent was enjoyable! Did you have to mention IN and OUT!!! *sigh

  3. I stitch a lot...and cross-stitching is something I always find myself going back too. It is soothing just counting to myself as I stitch! What a cute little design...it will be fabulous when you get it completed!

  5. Great job Tonya! I used to cross stitch alot until I found embroidery. I like to embroider because I don't have to count all those little Xs.

  6. Glad to be of inspiration! Not surprised at all that you can do this - you are one smart Gal. Now if we could find a pattern of Vanilla Ice to go along side the quote ;)

  7. Great job, Tonya! I used to love counted cross-stitch and did a lot of it UNTIL either they made the holes in the fabric too tiny or my eyes got too old!!! LOL

  9. Way to go, Tonya! Cross stitch can be so relaxing - once you get your floss untangled, that is! I love to cross stitch, and I'm working on a pretty little bluebird right now. I'll post it when it's done. Can't wait to see yours completed.

  12. Ha ha... I read Pat's comment, and I totally agree. The holes got smaller or my eyes got worse.

I did a lot of that many years ago. I did machine embroidery today. Did you know they have cross stitch patterns that you can do on your embroidery machine?
