I've been tagged!

Against my better judgement, I'm on here blogging.  After having a terrible cold last week, I now have the flu.  My Dr didn't want me to come into the office.  We're not sure if it's fear of making others sick, or he's swamped.  Either way, he called in good meds and I'm waiting for them to kick in.

I've got a new toy!

Don't we all love new toys, when it comes to our sewing or quilting.  Or anything closely related to either.  Those that know me, know I don't do any of my sewing or quilting "by the book".  I'm self taught and do it the way I "think" it should be done.  haha  Well, thanks to this blogging habit I've got.  I'm learning there are other ways to do things, and sometimes the right way is easier.  (not in all cases)  With the help of Pat  I thought I would get myself a quilting foot.  This is a free motion foot and I've been playing with it like crazy.  Now, if I just had a quilt to quilt.  haha  Will have one soon.

Also, my machine has a needle threader on it, I have no clue how to use it.  I've tried and tried with that thing.  It's just easier for me to do it myself.  

I'm still alive...........

I've been sewing daily.  Just nothing to show as of yet.  I did get some new fabrics over the weekend.  Found some deals I couldn't pass up.

This "roll" of 8 fat quarters I got at Wal-Mart on clearance for $5.00

These 6 fat quarters, I also got at Wal-Mart for $.75 a piece.

I've always wanted some black & white fabrics.  I got these at my local Fabric shop that opened when Wal-Mart did away with their fabric lines.

Pretty good deals if I do say so myself.  I got a few emails asking where I'd been, that I had been quiet lately.  I've had a terrible cold.  I can't seem to shake it.  It gets a little better every day.  I'll soon be all well.  

  

Hexagon Table Runner

So, looky here!  I've been trying to sew hexagon's for a while now.  I enlisted some help from a super nice gal @ www.quiltingfiesta.blogspot.com Gosh, I feel bad.  I don't even know her name.  So, after working on this all day yesterday.  This is the hexagon runner I came up with.  It's not backed yet.

He is Risen!!

Thank God he is risen!!  How lucky we are that he died for us!  I thank God that I'm a Christian!  Now to share a few Easter pics with you.  Then we're off to celebrate with my family with Easter dinner and an egg hunt.

One of Evan's Easter baskets.  I don't know about you, but mine sure never had an MP3 player in it.  Easter baskets sure have come a long way.  We always make his basket.  I don't really like the pre-made baskets.

Bobbin Help!

I just realized this is a terrible picture.  But you can see the bobbins and that's all that matters.  I need some Bobbin help!!  The bobbin on the left is for my pre 1960 Singer Spartan.  It's somewhat beveled or curved a bit.  (Click on the picture for a much better view of bobbins.) The bobbin on the right is for my "newer" Brother machine.  Although, I perfer the metal bobbins.  Have any of you ever seen the bobbin on the left?  Do you know where I can find some?  I've never seen them before.  Help!  Please!

My Calendar Quilt Challenge Update.

I updated the Calendar Quilt Challenge blogspot this morning.  Anyone of you who isn't sure what this is can click on the link and learn about it all.  I'm about 300 days into this challenge.  Basically you sew a quilt in a year.  Adding a piece to it each day.  I got a bit ahead of myself on this.  I had these strips all ready cut and wanted to see some progress so I stayed at it for a bit.  I'm not sure what I'll do for the remaining 65 days.  I know I'll add some type of border.  If you click on the quilt, you'll see I quilted this as I went.  Remember, I don't always do things like "your supposed" to.  lol

Barefoot or Shoes On?

I know your all scratching your heads.......thinking "what is she talking about now".  This is a bit of a fun post for me.  I've been thinking about posting this and I thought "wow, people might think I'm crazy".  Well, you know what?  I am crazy, and proud of it.  haha

So, on to the point.  I want to know if you sew barefoot or with your shoes on?  I myself sew barefoot (or socks on).  I have tried and tried to sew with my shoes on and I can't do it.  I was ready to go the other day, had my shoes on and a few extra mintue's.  I thought I would sew for a few,  my foot hit that peddle with lighting fast speed and the fabric was sewed and through the machine in a nano second.  I was like wahhhooooo...slow down.  I stopped sewing right then and had to rip out those stitches and re-do.  So.....I'd like to hear from all my followers.  How do you sew??

Oh my gosh, I fixed it.

Don't ask me how I found it, but I found someone who had the same issue and told me to clean out my "cache".  WOOHOO..........thanks to all who helped.

What happened to my posting options?

I went to post a new post yesterday and noticed, I'm missing lots of options. Like to add a picture or a link, I'm missing that entire bar of information. Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this? What happened to my stuff? I'm a little upset!!
