Also, my machine has a needle threader on it, I have no clue how to use it. I've tried and tried with that thing. It's just easier for me to do it myself.

I've got a new toy!
Don't we all love new toys, when it comes to our sewing or quilting. Or anything closely related to either. Those that know me, know I don't do any of my sewing or quilting "by the book". I'm self taught and do it the way I "think" it should be done. haha Well, thanks to this blogging habit I've got. I'm learning there are other ways to do things, and sometimes the right way is easier. (not in all cases) With the help of Pat I thought I would get myself a quilting foot. This is a free motion foot and I've been playing with it like crazy. Now, if I just had a quilt to quilt. haha Will have one soon.

Good for you!! I need to get back in the groove also and get some things quilted here.
ReplyDeleteWell you are not alone I too have problems with the treader thingie and just do it myself! HA!!
Lola
I learned how to use my threader and it has stopped me from cursing a LOT. hehehe I am betting you will be free-motion quilting a lot better than I can do it in no time at all. Have fun and keep us posted! (Gee....maybe if you get good enough at doing it.... and are still short on things to quilt, I can send you some of my UFO tops and you can quilt them!!! LOL)
ReplyDeleteWhen I started learning to machine quilt I was told to practice, practice, practice. What I have recently learned is that I can use the practice sandwiches can be made into notebook covers, journal covers, placemats, etc. That way I am not wasting either fabric or time. Good luck with your new toy.
ReplyDeleteOh, good purchase. I couldn't live without mine now. Can't wait to see what you create with it!
ReplyDeleteDo you ever get a number of bobbins with some thread, but nothing that you are working on at the time? I use them to practice my free motion quilting -- empties the bobbins in a useful way. Enjoy your new goodie!
ReplyDeleteWooHoo!! You are going to love it.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog and love it! I love to buy feet for my machine. They make such a difference. You do beautiful work!
