Just because I've been so slack about blogging and keeping up with everyone. I want to have a giveaway. Please go easy on me for these terrible pictures. I'm using my cell phone for pictures. I left my digital camera on and killed the $10.00 battery. Any who, on with the show.............I have no idea what these are called. I call them "pieces you can applique". They come off of panels. I love panels and they always have these small pieces of decorations on them, I always cut them off and save them and I've accumulated quiet a few. So, here goes.........
Here's the stack......
A few fall leaves...
a super cute pumpkin and some sun flowers....
a bigger sunflower.....
more sunflowers......
snowmen, star and about 8 penguins....
front and back of an angel, and Santa.....
front and back of a house and 2 stars....
So, if you can find a use for these please leave a comment on this post. This is for my followers only. If anyone has a correct name for these, let me know. I will draw a winner on October, 25th. You know you want em'!!
You have a really cute blog. I am not sure how I happened upon it. I recently started learning to quilt. I have been skipping around blog land admiring all you amazing quilters.
ReplyDeleteTonya what a cute give away!! I love these too and always save mine!! Keep plugging away at school, you will make it!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what they're called. Your name is as good as any. Count me in - I can always use a few little goodies.
ReplyDeleteYup...I could use some of these, too. (You know I'm especially keen on the penguins!!!) Heck...I'd even be generous and let you pick two winners and I'd share them with the other winner. (Does that get me extra points for being so generous??? LOL)
ReplyDeleteWOW Tonya, what a fabulous give away, brilliant idea, cos they are just so useful, I am so pleased to be a follower of yours so I can enter. Please, please mark me down for a try at winning these, even if its just some of them or one of them, brilliant idea girl. lol Jan across the pond. xx
ReplyDeleteI don't know what they call them for sure, but they are as you say little applique shapes. I agree with Pat's remark above.
Count me in for the penguins. If i win, send them to Pat. I haven't yet started doing applique so I don't need them for myself.
ReplyDeleteHeck girl, you are busy with school and a child. I, for one, understand when you just don't get to do the blogging.
I don't know what they are called either. Cute giveaway. I agree, you have a great blog!!

ReplyDeleteI'm making a christmas quilt for my sister with penguins and I'd love to have my hands on those!! Oh soooo cute!!

Hey, I am always up for something new. Some of these look like they would make good kids quilts: I challenged myself to make at least one every other month so I still have two to go for the year. I can also see table toppers and/or placemats. See, I am ready for them to come to my house/studio. LOL

Your blog is amazing and really resonated with me!
A bit about me. I'm a mystery writer, jewelry artist, and college professor. Yes, and a Gemini, if you couldn't tell! Here is my blog, where I blend my mystery writing and jewelry craft:

Hello! Wait - aren't they called "doo-dads"???
ReplyDeleteThese would be fun for applique - so include me please!
But don't feel bad about being slack about blogging. It's always great when you write and I always check to see if you have written. Which reminds me I also need to post something as it has been a while. I got a temporary job through the end of the year and it has made me very busy.
Talk to ya soon!!

ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your camera and $10 battery. Err. I've done that before and agree it is frustrating. But actually, your cell phone takes great photos.
ReplyDeleteYour giveaway sounds delightful. Count me in. I can think of a lot of great projects with these pieces.

Tonya, these would make great decorations on quilts, or they could be sewn with a backing for a pin cushion or softie, or appliqued on a sweatshirt or tote.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the camera. My battery is dead, though it could be recharged - IF I could find the cord!
They're so cute!, they will look cute on country quilting
ReplyDeleteI'd like to call them "Mine!!!" (sounding just like a 2 year old! haha!! I'd call them cute! Okay, love to have them, thanks for the cute giveaway, and you need to check out your camera instruction book. There may be a setting to have it automatically turn it's self off, help save on those batteries. hugs!!

ReplyDeleteIf it's FREE and it's fabric.... then, I WANT IT!

Actually, just to see my name on someone's blog that I WON something, gives me the shivers, too! But that's only happened once, so far. *grin*

P.S. Pls add my name in your hat?
Found you through Lilac Lane/Missy Melissa's blog. I would have "followed" anyway but your give-away is too hard to resist! True crafters save everything!! And generous people give it away. I started sewing when I was eight, unless you count the toy sewing machine I got when I was three. I had a wonderful teacher, my mom, who taught me well and instilled the passion. I admire all those who are self taught because I would never have been able to do that. Kudos to you.
ReplyDeleteI will become a follower as soon as I get done commenting.
ReplyDeleteI love those and what a great idea. I would use them as pieces of a crazy quilt block, which is my first love. Or in embroidered pieces.
Your blog is great!
Tammy
While they're all lovely, I would like the snowmen & penguins. Thanks!
