So so Thankful.......

If you've read my Facebook status lately, you'll know why I'm so thankful and praising GOD. I was leaving for class this morning and ended up in a bad wreck. To make a long story short, the girl at fault was playing with her cell phone. She crossed the center line and hit a semi truck in front of me, then spun around completely and hit me head on. When she hit the semi, it sent him into the nearest power pole. He was trapped in his truck, but only because of live electricity all around him. We thought he was really hurt, because we were not aware of the power issue. The wreck was scattered across an area of 100 yards. It was quite a jolt. I've never been in a wreck and never knew the impact of a wreck was so violent and hard. I was fine this morning, not hurt at all. Right now..........I feel like I've had the crap beaten out of me. My "girls" (breasts) are bruised really bad. I can only assume from the seal belt or air bags. I am so, so thankful us 3 drivers are ok and not seriously hurt.

I'm being honest in saying, I worry about my car. The state trooper and wrecked company both think both cars are a loss. I hold out hope that my car can be fixed as the damaged is contained to the front driver side. I know her insurance will take care of things as she was at fault and received 3 tickets for this wreck. However, if her insurance only pays off my car, that leaves me nothing to get a new car. I know, I know.......I shouldn't be worried about this! But, I'm only human and can't help it. I'm trying to leave it in God's hands and not worry. I really am.

I ask for everyone's prayers that I'm able to move tomorrow (from the soreness). haha

  1. I'm so sorry Tonya! This is horrible. I'm not sure why but your status hasn't shown up on my feed.

Yes this is something to be worried about. I experienced something very similar.

Long story short, trip to the beach, was rear ended on the interstate by a dodge ram. I was driving a saturn car and my truck rolled into my backseat.

If you've not been to a doctor GET TO ONE NOW!!!

I didn't it! I regret it everyday! And sue if your car is totaled and the insurance doesn't cover it. Mine didn't and I had to use what was left of my school savings to get a new vehicle. I went from being able to afford my first semester of graduate school to almost being evicted from my apartment a few weeks after college graduation because I had to have a car.

I hate that our legal system makes it so difficult to be kind but YOU NEED A CAR.

When her insurance calls, because they will, do not say anything that may mean you had anything to do with this. Even though you're thinking HOW in the world would I have done something. They still will try to get you to say something like.......the sun was shining in my eyes when she hit me head on.....

Get to a doctor and get a lawyer! Please because I didn't and I wish I had!

  2. I was just in a wreck the first of Nov. It was not as bad as yours but look out tomorrow and the next day. You will be so sore. And your boobs will probably be black and blue. Mine looked awful!

  3. We had drama today, but not what you have been through, our little bump on the head seems small in comparison to a car wreck. I hope that you are doing well and things work out for the best. Good luck with everything and you are in my prayers.

  5. I'm so sorry to hear of your disastrous day. Serena's right - if you haven't been to the doctor, by all means, do so. And do be careful with the insurnce company. They'll really be looking for a way not to have to pay you what you deserve. You'll be in my prayers.

  6. I agree with the others, if you have not sought out medical care, please do so. I am very glad you are home and safe.

  8. Oh my goodness, Tonya. I'm so glad to hear that you're alright after that ordeal. What an incredibly scary experience.

I can only echo the others - take care of yourself, get checked out by a doctor, and fight for your rights!

  9. I'm so glad to hear that you are ok. Everything with the car will work out. I hope E was not with you so he did not have to go through that experience.

  10. You are VERY lucky, but from my experience, tomorrow you will be really sore. In fact, a lot of people don't end up at the doctor until 24 hours after the accident. I hope this doesn't hold true for you, but if it does, do go. Her insurance should pay. But for tonight, give the DH a big kiss and E a big hug and relish that they have you right where you should be.

  11. You were extremely lucky!! Make sure you get to a doctor within the 24 hours after an accident.

Here it seems to be a rule of thumb that if the airbags deploy, the car is written off. Don't know if that's the same there.

  12. I am so glad you are okay. But I am sure the bruising hurts!

  13. It would seem advisable for a doctor to check you out, Tonya. I hope the car issue doesn't become a problem. I have known several who had that happen......and were in a bind. I will hope and pray that doesn't happen to you...you have been through enough already.

  14. I don't know you from Adam but I was blog hopping and I read your post. Wow....I'm soooo glad you are fine and the other drivers are too. It sounds really scary. Hopefully you can get some rest and you will be feeling somewhat better soon.

    Kelly

  15. Oh, Tonya, I am so sorry to hear about the accident, but so thankful that you are okay. That must have been so scary. Cell phones and driving DO NOT work together. Our state has banned them while driving which is a good idea.

  16. Oh my word, Tonya. God was looking out for you today. Take it easy for awhile, okay? You have my prayers.

  17. Oh, Tonya, I am so sorry. You must have been terrified, although it is difficult to know for sure because I am sure it happened very fast. Did you see a doctor? If the answer is "no" do it the first thing tomorrow. And know that you are receiving lots of positive thoughts and prayers.

  18. I am so glad that you didn't receive further damage to yourself. Hope you mend soon....and well...it is only human to worry about things like that and you are right again on the account that things usually do work out but sometimes it just causes a worry...so...don't worry.....be happy.....you are alive!!!

  21. Serena gave some good advice. My internet was down last night so I did minimal on the phone. Glad I have a bit of internet service on it-although limited.

Take care of yourself. I hate to say it but I agree with Serena that you may have to sue to keep from getting hurt financially.
And yes, do go to the Dr or ER and get checked out if you haven't already.

  22. Awwhhh..so sorry for it all!! Hope you aren't too sore today. Very happy that there were not serious injuries. And the aftermath of an accident is purely annoyance. Thinking of you!

  23. So glad you are ok but I agree get to a doctor for two reasons..first just to make sure you are ok..then to document the injuries no matter how small. There is a such thing as "pain and suffering". It is a shame up we live in a litigious society baut you may need the documentation.

    Rest and take care.

  24. I'm so sorry to hear this. I agree about seeing a doctor. As to your legal system I don't have a clue. However you need to make sure that you are okay, even if you think you are. Hugs

  26. I am praying for you and the car situation .....I am just so glad that you are ok.....you know her insurance company can compensate you for your injuries too...you need to contact them...you never know what might show up later.......

  27. Like my mother says "Any accident that you walk away from is a good accident." That being said, I hope you went to the hospital and got yourself checked out. Sometimes you're more injured that it feels like at first. Don't be afraid to argue with the insurance company I did after an accident and got more than I expected. I'll keep you in my prayers.
    Hugs,
    Patty
