Yep, a new sewing machine. Now...before anyone says anything, I know this is not a fancy, expensive machine. I also know it's a Brother. However, it's what I want. So, please everyone be nice and tell me how much you love it. I mean look at my current machine below and tell me this one isn't better.
Yay! I'm so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteYour first project on your new machine will be so special. Can't wait to see what you do with all the fancy schmancy software.
I laughed when i saw your post title, and was wondering what i was getting...LOL
ReplyDeleteI have a brother machine that I love, but it isn't digital. I am sure you will love your new machine, can't wait to see your creations!
I had an old Singer and three years ago when I started quilting I bought a Brother off of Overstock. They have great prices on machines. I loved my Brother. I really like the table. I also bought a Janome off of Overstock. Congrats on your machine, you will love it.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I hear Brother's are really well made. Congratulations! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGood gried Tonyo, you had me running for the baby patterns just then!!!! Bet everyone thought the same!!!! Go on, own up...... I hear Brother's are neat machines, why would you think badly of them, If you have had one for ever and a day it is time to upgrade, well done, you know I shall be expecting you to make some sooperdooper stuff on this chuffer now. I like your old machine, it looks friendly....

Congrats! It's a great looking machine. Can you really look at a finished quilt and tell what machine was used to sew it? I think not!! Quilting is what matters!! Can't wait to see your first project using it!

I fully understand Tonya. I am happy that you are getting to "step up"
ReplyDeleteI will give you the advice I got: Keep the old mechanical as a backup. (a backup is always a good idea!)
My first two computerized machines were Brothers and I loved them. I now have a BabyLock (I think it is the SAME as Brother) And it is one of those expensive machines. I love it too.
A better machine makes sewing easier and you can get more done in less time. The good thing is, the feet from the old machine should fit on the new one too.
Have a LOT of fun with the new machine.
You're going to have so much fun sewing on a new machine. Who cares what it is as long as it works for you and does all you expect it to do. I agree with Gene, keep your old one for back-up. Can't wait to see what your first project is on your new "baby". Hugs
ReplyDeleteYAY...I'm really happy for you!!! Do keep the old machine for back-up....eventually all machines need to go for regular routine servicing and at least you can still sew while the new one is having its "check-up". When will you get the new machine????
ReplyDeleteThat's the machine that I have. I love it. Who cares if it's not expensive? (I don't care for snobs like that anyway. What do they know?) I hope you enjoy your machine!
ReplyDeleteHappy for you ..upgrades are awesome no matter the brand!!
ReplyDeleteI have 2 pals that bought a Brother machines at Walmart back in 2004 that are still going strong now so don't worry about brand or price!
Just sew sew sew!!!
Hugs,
Lola
I am so happy for you....I am so happy as if it happened to me....you will love it. You will have to let us all know what tricks it can do....and show us some pretty work.
ReplyDeleteI should be just happy for you, but I am feeling a little jealous. It has passed. How fun for you. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for you! Congratulations! What kind of software did you get to go with it? What does it do? I agree with Gene, keep your old machine as a backup.
ReplyDeleteCool. Everyone needs a back-up machine or three! Keep the old one. I have my Great Aunt's treadle machine - great for straight stitching and a work-out, and my 1960 Kenmore - heavy metal good for heavy fabrics and my Stinkin Singer embroidery machine.
ReplyDeleteOh, new machines are so much fun. I can't wait to see the new treasures you're going to be making.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I love a new sewing machine! :o)
ReplyDeleteHave fun!!!
Tanya, I'm happy for you, I have two machines and one I "borrowed" forever from my mother. As long they sew and you don't have too many problems with them I think any machine is just fine.
ReplyDeleteHappy sewing.
Oh sewing we will go, a sewing we will go Hi! Ho! a sewing we will go. See you could have made up another song. :^)
If the machine makes you happy and sews well, it is good! Enjoy your new sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteHello there Miss Tonya. I bought a Brother just before Christmas and I love it. I was set on a Bernina, but my sewing machine rep, who sells brother, viking and bernina tested the top of each one and the Brother won. So that's what I bought. And it's really nice. You'll enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI had one similar to your old machine... believe me anything's an improvement ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!!
Looks like you are going to have a lot more stitch choices and that will be fun. I have Babylock machines, made by Brother, and love them.
ReplyDeleteSWEET!!!
ReplyDeleteYAY, a new machine....I love it and I am thrilled for you....i am sure that it will make your quilts all the more beautifuller.......
