Red White & Blue Swap

I finally started to put these together.
Cecelia hosted this RWB swap.
Ok, before you call the quilt police, let me first say......my heart and my mind was not with making these blocks at all.
We are in the process of buying our first house.
I didn't want to say anything until it is "almost" a go.
We are so excited!
We were in the process of buying a house before we got married. However; TJ got really sick (his intestines ruptured) 4 months before we were to get married. We even talked of delaying the wedding. We cut our honeymoon very short.
So.......now, 5 years later.....we trying this again. I'll keep you updated through this lengthy process.
Then pictures..........woohoo

Ok, on to see these blocks.....
this one, I really goofed, but I made it work.
this was my block........now, for everyone that was in this swap, let me apologize now....this was during my "heart" issues, and TJ picked out this fabric. It's not sewing fabric. I made this work. I am so sorry you got crappy fabric from me. It's stiff.....It might have been better if I would have washed and dried it. Again, I'm sorry!
love the flowers on this one
I messed this one up too, but it still resembles a star, so I'm ok
love this one too....

now, I have 7 more to go

  1. Hey.....GOOD luck on the house!!! I can recall how excited we were with the first house, too. We were in that house for over 30 years and them moved here to retire to southern Delaware. Please keep me posted. Your blocks all look nice, too.

  2. I'm so happy to hear about the house. I know what a thrill it is. We lived in our last house for 28 years, and plan to live the rest of our lives in this one. I only have one more RWB block to do, and then I think I'll cut some more! I want it be a bed size quilt. Your blocks are looking great.

  3. Woo-hoo! Good luck on the house! It's the perfect time to buy and much better than five years ago when the market was higher.

Your RWB blocks are looking awesome. I love the block with your fabrics in it. I used mine and then fried it when I ironed it. I tried to get something along the flag line to replace it.

  4. Congratulations on purchasing your first home! It's a lot of work to maintain a home but I do love my own place. You'll get much more for your $ now than you would have 5 years ago.

    Great blocks!

  5. There is nothing in the world like your first house. You can live in dozens of other houses but that first one is the one you always remember the best. Congratulations.

  7. Buying your first house is exciting but also scary. Ask EVERY Question...and don't worry what they think. Voice of experience here.

The blocks look fine to me. (but we are gonna have to explain some basic sewing stuff to TJ!)

Wow on the house. It's so exciting! When you get your own house, I can just see you making curtains, and Mod Podging every surface!
