got your napkin ready to wipe the drool?

i saved all my birthday money and went to joann's

look at this loot of fabric

i got most all of them to make the wall hanging below

a new rotary cutter with a pinking blade

i thought this little gadget was interesting

it's a olfa touch knife

the blade only stays out when you push that grey button forward

quilting gloves

i'm not a glove fan

but i have wondered if these will help me when quilting

we'll see

i saved the best purchase for last

if you have this die, did you know the stem blade will also made vase

i'm excited to play with this

i'm ashamed to say, i've slept the day away

i just hope i can sleep tonight as well

i needed the sleep, lots on my mind

2 1/2" Strip Cutter Tutorial using your GO.

i showed you a quilt using the 2 1/2" strip cutter the other day

i thought i'd show you a little more in depth how i made it

here i have some white scraps, really looks like a scrap, huh?

sometimes i get in a hurry and don't cut as straight as i should or could

i'll work on that

this die cuts three strips

since this scrap was so narrow, i thought i'd try to get one strip out of it

here we go...get to cranking that handle

i even let e do it, he loved it

starting through, if you really listen you can hear the blades going into the fabric

i love that part!

almost done..........

keep cranking

gives you muscles

and here is your 2 1/2" strip

i already got the scrap ends off so you could see the perfect, crisp strip

repeat process again with your other choice of fabrics

fat quarters work perfect for this project

here are my two fabric choices

all cut and ready to sew together

this goes together really fast

here we have several strips sewed together

sew as big as you want

add batting, backing and binding

and you have a finished quilt using your 2 1/2" strip cutter

and your GO machine

i kept this simple (since there's a deadline and all)x

A Zipper Bag

so, you all know by now my love for zippers

these were more than 22" long, so i knew they would be perfect for this project

the pink zipper for the flap is a snap closure

they were part of a LOT from ebay

2.5 lbs of buckles

i took out the big ones and the ones that i liked that i need for my capri sun belts

no, you can't see those

so, these are little

maybe they came off shoes, i dunno

the biggest one, top row last buckle is 1"x1"

the rest are smaller

anyone need any buckles

i'll be happy to send you some

(they'll ship cheap) lol

The National Geographic Channel has created a reality show that follows us around as we do our jobs and try to think of solutions for waste, called Garbage Moguls. This show about TerraCycle will air on August 21st starting at 8pm, following a re-airing of the pilot episode at 7pm (which originally aired Earth Day 2009).

Some new creations.........

and wondering if my GO would cut through a single pouch

i know some of you are gasping right now

why would she want to cut anything other than fabric with this wonderful machine

cause, i have more brilliant ideas

i would say it's probably easier to cut than card stock

i'll have to ask Accuquilt about this

i love the slight curve these pouches have, perfect look for a coin purse

yep, a belt.........it would take 100 to make a belt for myself

this one fits E

love the "buckle" 

a velcro closure vs my normal zipper

i added a new velcro flap closure on this bag vs an inside velcro closure

another belt with a different "buckle"

i have one more different type buckle to try

i know it's not quilty items, but i love doing these as much as my quilting

A Gift from Paris

those of you that "know" me will understand

i love it!

i ran out of  white HST for my pinwheels

so, i'm GOing again

i just love to GO

i was still struggling with, what i thought was wasting fabric

Gene Black posted a video on Facebook this morning

and it really helped me

he showed how he cut the width he needed and then folded in half

that's what i did with this white fabric and i had much, much less waste

have you been GOing?

I've been GOing.......really, I have

i haven't used maggie (new machine) in a week

i've been working so hard on my capri sun adventures on brother (old  machine)

i never imagined it would have gone this far

i sell them on 3 different sites and can't keep up

i had gotten ahead and had a huge stock completed

and then fell behind

i'm ahead again ;)

tomorrow, i go to meet with a local store (kids store)

to sell them in there

this by no means will make me rich or take the place of a full time job

but, i love it

and that's all that matters, right?
small disclaimer: i don't sit around all day and drink 20 capri sun's to have all these pouches
i've enlisted all my friends and family to save these for me
their all too good to me
you can save them for me as well

so now.........

i'm GOing

i'm trying to finish these,

that i cut a few weeks back with my GO machine

i'm going to that BIG wonder-mus fabric store in va tomorrow
