A Dog for Kentlee

So, I have this awesome trick for my brother on Christmas Day.
My brother knows I've been wanting a dog.  Common sense keeps me from getting one.
Anyway, I'll tell my brother I got Kentlee (his 11 month old) a dog for Christmas.
Right when his jaw drops and he starts to yell, I'll pull out this adorable stuffed Scottie dog.
How cute is this?
I didn't have a pattern for this, I made it by looking at Aunt Spicy's.
Check hers out here.  She's made tons, I bet she could make them with her eyes closed.

I think on the next one, I could stuff it more on the legs and all the corners.  Live and learn.
I tied a mint green shiny ribbon around his neck.  I also stitched the ribbon on by hand.  Just in case that Kentlee decides to remove said ribbon, someone should see him before he's finished. (hopefully)

Thanks Aunt Spicy for the inspiration.

Merry Christmas to all!

  1. Such a fabulous dog! I am sure kentlee will adore it!

  2. It's WONDERFUL, Tonya!!! I bought a dog like that in the Amish country at one of their shops. Yours looks every bit as nice as the one I bought. GOOD idea to stitch the ribbon in place...don't need that going into Kentlee's mouth! Good trick to pull on your brother, too!

  3. What a lovely little dog for you nephew! I'm sure he'll love it.

  4. So cute! Kentlee will love her doggie!

  5. Cute, cute, cute! Kentlee can play "I Spy" games with all those adorable squares!

  6. That is so cute. Hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas. Hugs

  7. Cute! Can you keep a straight face while you're telling your brother you got Kentlee a dog? I never can!

  8. got him, didn't you? Very cute.

  9. That is an awesome dog... Such a wonderful idea and so thoughtful, too. No dog food to buy and no 'gifts' in the back yard to clean up. The best thing besides all the above? You get to pull your brother's leg first. I love that!

Here's wishes for a wonderful, fun Christmas!

  10. He is so cute. Are they hard to make? What size are your square blocks?

  11. That is so cute...Oh give in and get a real dog...A Scottish terrier would be nice around the house.

  12. Cute doggie! I haven't seen one like that in years. Love it!
I have really enjoyed your blog. I'm trying to find new ideas for crafting/sewing and you have given me plenty.
Thank you for sharing! Can't wait to see what's next!
