Becky posted this on her Facebook wall, wishing her kids knew how to stitch.
I saved it, and have looked at it every day since she posted it.
I didn't have any cross stitch cloth, hoops or embroidery floss.
I headed to Michael's in Boone yesterday and got all I needed to make this.
Thanks to Jackie for getting me started on separating the floss strands.
I had a knotted mess.
Here's what I have so far.
I love the humor in this stitching..........
:) I haven't cross stitched in years....well, since I now own an embroidery sewing machine ;) I love your little blocks, you know you can make a quilt with that pattern too :) It's looking good!ReplyDelete
I learned to cross stitch many moons ago and then fell into quilting. :-)ReplyDelete
I just read all your post about Ca (yeah I'm behind on blog reading)...I'm from Fairfield (family all still there) You were in all my old stomping grounds!! My FIL was a machinest for Jelly Belly....we still reap the rewards. LOL Looks like your time spent was enjoyable! Did you have to mention IN and OUT!!! *sigh
I stitch a lot...and cross-stitching is something I always find myself going back too. It is soothing just counting to myself as I stitch! What a cute little design...it will be fabulous when you get it completed!ReplyDelete
You're doing fantastic! Love the colors too. I wonder what you have up your sleeve next?! :)ReplyDelete
Great job Tonya! I used to cross stitch alot until I found embroidery. I like to embroider because I don't have to count all those little Xs.ReplyDelete
Glad to be of inspiration! Not surprised at all that you can do this - you are one smart Gal. Now if we could find a pattern of Vanilla Ice to go along side the quote ;)ReplyDelete
Great job, Tonya! I used to love counted cross-stitch and did a lot of it UNTIL either they made the holes in the fabric too tiny or my eyes got too old!!! LOLReplyDelete
Love it!! I used to cross stitch too!! But I had a hard time counting!!! LOLReplyDelete
Way to go, Tonya! Cross stitch can be so relaxing - once you get your floss untangled, that is! I love to cross stitch, and I'm working on a pretty little bluebird right now. I'll post it when it's done. Can't wait to see yours completed.ReplyDelete
What a lovely cross stitch piece. I love to cross stitch and this is a very pretty one. Looking forward to all the steps in progress.ReplyDelete
I LOVE cross stitching. I really find it so relaxing and I think you are off to a great start!ReplyDelete
Ha ha... I read Pat's comment, and I totally agree. The holes got smaller or my eyes got worse.ReplyDelete
I did a lot of that many years ago. I did machine embroidery today. Did you know they have cross stitch patterns that you can do on your embroidery machine?
