Happy Thanksgiving

It's been a great day here. We picked up E yesterday and he'll be home till Saturday.
Hopefully, after the first of the year, he'll be home for GOOD.

So, I made the decision to get a dot.com and moved my entire blog over to Wordpress.  2 days worth of work, only to find nothing there.  I don't find any of my work.
Cancelling the dot.com tomorrow if it ain't there and sticking with free blogger.
Oh well..................

Hope you all are happily stuffed!

An Inspired Post

Yesterday, Rachel from Not-So-Plain-Jane had a great post about things that make her happy to be alive. As I was reading her list, I was creating my own list in my head. Then I started writing it all down and thus this post was born.

Things that make me happy to be alive and just happy in general:

a good writing pen
a call from my mom (even though she only lives 5 miles away)
a new purse
joining the gym today and looking forward to how much better I will feel
loosing 30 lbs
my friends who accept me as I am
E
my brother when he calls or texts and needs me for something
my blogging friends
my husband who treats me as if I'm a size 2 vs 102
my bff from high school, Stephanie..I "heart" you!
a super clean house (even though I've always heard "a clean house is a sign of boredom")
an unexpected package in the mail
texting
E telling me he loves me completely out of the blue
riding in my car alone and listening to my music as loud as I want
going to see my aunt and cousin and having a blast with them
finishing a sewing project
binding (crazy, huh?)

I'm sure I could think of million more, but to me....these are the small things that make my small world go round.

A bigger version of the Friendship Bag

I used the same fabrics. I made this one for a lady at church that spoils E rotten. I guess my picture of the tag is horrible. However, for now that's as good as it gets. Well, I just realized I had E's first and last name on the tag, and didn't think that was a good idea. (due to certain issues.) that's why we call him E. So anywho............another bag complete.

I was thinking, skinny it up a bit more and it would be an awesome wine bag.

We are having FUN

Just a quick note to say hello and we are having fun. Here's a few pictures for your enjoyment and laughter.

Yours truly...
We stopped in Corbin, KY at Colonel Sanders original "Sanders Cafe". This was interesting to say the least. Food was great, the original kitchen and his things in the museum were..........well OLD.....and it smelled musty. I guess that's what happens to things of that nature, but it was almost unbearable.
Hubs with the Colonel. He was the only one that would sit with him. Me or E wouldn't. lol
Here we are at Jungle Jim's in Ohio. This place is awesome. By far the biggest super market I've ever been in.
For my friends in the south you'll understand this. Duke's Mayo is a staple in the south. It's normally around 3-4$ Here at Jungle Jim's where food is imported from all over the world (including the SOUTH ya'll) Duke's mayo is almost $7.00 I was floored! Now you know the mark up on imported items, even if it isn't from overseas.
Hubs and E and E's cousin at lunch. She's so dang dark!
Walking home from the pool. If you click on the picture to see it better, you'll see E walking. We were smart, we rode UP to the pool, and walked home since it was downhill. haha (my momma didn't raise no dummie, well she did, but it was my brother, lol)

Love you all!!

"Play Strong" Scarf Project

a quote from the instruction card from Kelee: "Design gives back projects helps the world through creative action. Decorate a scarf and help lost dogs. Simply by decorating an Oliver Wendell scarf and (sending a pic to Kelee) of your dog and decorated scarf you will earn a $10.00 donation to help those abandoned pets. We have a sponsor that will make a $2,000.00 donation if we decorate 150 scarves."

I'm not sure if she got 150 people, I know it was close. I sure hope she did. I had fun doing this, and I think E and Sammie loved it as well. Sammie is my mom's outside dog and she wasn't so sure about this scarf. E "leashed" her up for the pic so she wouldn't run off to the creek with my scarf. haha

Vintage Sheet turned Quilt

I asked my mom awhile back if she had any of my childhood sheets left. She kinda looked at me funny. She said "they were girly, E won't like them". I said "they are not for E". She was really confused then. Then it clicked with her, "you are going to make something". After all these years she still had my favorite childhood sheet set. It was pretty worn out. However, I was able to save some of it. Here's what I've cut so far to start a quilt with. It's pretty thin, so I'm not sure it will be able to take machine quilting. Maybe, just maybe this will be my first hand quilting quilt. We'll see.
I even saved the top and bottom trip of the sheet. It's double layers thick. This would make a good border.
So cute............

Now you see why it was my favorite. I'm going to trim each block in the same color of blue that's on the block. I managed to get 15 blocks from this twin flat sheet.

Stayed tuned for my progress on this.

Mom & E's Thursday Adventure

I'm so glad I have my mom and E to keep me on my toes. What would I do without them? How could I live without the stress and love these two provide me. What happened now you ask? Mom (with E in tow) hydroplaned and ran off the road yesterday. When I say off the road, I mean OFF the road. If you were driving by you would not have known anyone ran off there. That's the joys of living in the mountains. They were fine, not even a scratch on either of them. First responders were quick on the scene. It's a little humorous now, but wasn't then. I just knew I would beat the first responders there, but they were quick, they beat me and even had them out of the car by the time I got there.
What I saw when I got there. eeekkkkk

Starting to "drag" it up and out.
It's slowly coming up.

Almost out, then my phone died. I took all these on my phone.
