Christmas Stars is Finished!

i really like the way this turned out
i didn't run it through the wash like i wanted too
i don't pre-wash my fabric and i was afraid the red would bleed onto the white
i'll let my mom find out if it bleeds when she needs to wash it, lol

i just quilted around each star

the lone star on the back is the label....

i hope she likes it
she don't really show emotion so it's always hard to tell

  1. I think it's great. AND...I'm here to tell you that if you buy yourself a box of SHOUT brand "Color Catcher" sheets and use them in the wash, colors will NOT bleed....those sheets work wonders. (Sometimes I'll use 2 sheets instead of 1.) Love the cute photo of your nephew I saw today on FB...you were tagged with it.

  2. Well, I love it, and I'm sure your mom will too whether she jumps for joy or not. Some people just don't react that way, do they?

Pat keeps talking about those colour catchers, but I've never been able to find them. Perhaps they don't sell them in the Great White North.

  5. It's great, Tonya, and she's going to love it even if she doesn't let it show! The star label was good idea.

  6. Soooo cute. Throw one of those Grab-It sheets in with it when you wash it.

  7. Pat is right about the color catcher sheets. With the red, I would use two. However, if the red is good quality fabric (Moda, Kauffman, etc), it probably won't bleed. I have never had a Charm pack/jelly roll bleed.. and that is good cause you can't prewash those.

  11. Your stars are a neat finish, Tonya. So fun to see them bounce randomly across the runner. I'm sure Mom will love it! (and include one of those color catcher sheets for when she does wash it, :-})
