Farmer's Wife Blocks 7 & 8

i had trouble with both of these blocks
but, i'm not sweating it
if they looked perfect y'all would know it wasn't my work
so, i'll leave them as is

 this is # 8 Bouquet
i had trouble with the pink flower points matching up
#7 Birds in the air
birds flying in the air look much better than this block
but, there again; it is what it is.......

Farmer's Wife Blocks 5 & 6

I'm really liking the preciseness of paper piecing.

below are the latest 2 blocks I've finished......

6 Big Dipper
5 Bat Wing
I did get a bit of the selvage edge on this one, but i'm sure the 1/4" will cover it when assembled

not sure how much i'll get done this weekend as i'm
getting that special little boy tomorrow, he's all mine

Farmer's Wife Block 4

I had planned to go in order, to make these in order as they are in the book.
Well, I skipped 3, cause it had a curve in it.

Here's block 4-Basket Weave

again, this block was paper pieced
I took a tip from a friend and kept the paper on all pieces,
then sewed the whole block together
i think that helped a lot
I also think I'll keep the paper on till I get ready to assemble the quilt

Farmer's Wife Blocks 1 & 2

Block on the left (it's a bit wonky and I'm not sure why)
left-#2 Autumn Tints
right-#1 Attic Windows

I'm finding the paper pieced blocks are in 3-4 pieces, then you have to join them to make the complete block.  I'm not fond of that at all.  I wish it was all one paper pieced block.  Do these exist?  Does anyone know?

Attic Windows was one complete block, Autumn Tints was in 4 parts, I guess that's how I got it wonky.
