Here's more dresses in various stages through the process. I'm really enjoying these so much.
My cousin has now fell in love with the yo yo maker and here's what she did for me. She borrowed mine and now wants her own. This was her fabrics. However, this week, I sent her home with a stack of mine, since she's making them for me.
So, here's why I turned 3 ladies into the police. We were eating lunch yesterday and 3 ladies came in wanting a seat by the window. They argued and argued with the waitress over which table would be the best to "see". Then the oldest lady yells...."we got a baby in the car". Me and TJ stopped dead in our chewing. I asked TJ just to be sure I heard what I thought I had. Yep, that's what she said. Within 5 mins we were ready to leave. I told TJ then, I was calling the police. It was in the 30's yesterday and we still have tons of snow on the ground. To cold to have a baby in the car. I don't care if it was asleep or not. If your that hungry, you'd better hit a drive thru and not a sit down BUFFET. We left and as I was about to call 911, there was a police sitting in his car watching traffic next door. We told him and he was very alarmed. Before we could get out of the parking lot (I did not want to hang around to see what was going to happen, I'd imagine there's now a DSS investigation) he was over there looking at the baby and going into the restaurant. I know I did the right thing.
You would think that if there were three ladies that one of them would stay in the car with the baby....?????
ReplyDeleteHoly crap! People are stupid! Good for you for reporting them.
ReplyDeleteAnd great work with all the other 'stuff' - dresses, tree blocks, gym, walking, playing. Whew, I'm tired just thinking about all you've done!
You most certainly did do the right thing. I hate when people do not use their heads for anything but a hat rack. Babies and pets should NEVER be left in a car no matter what the weather is outside.
ReplyDeleteWhatever were they thinking?
ReplyDeleteCan I send cousin some of my fabric to make into yo-yos for me???
ReplyDeleteI hope that lady doesn't read your blog! hehehee I think I would have turned them in also.
What kind of parent would leave a baby in the car while they ate? Yes you did the right thing. Anything could have happened. Do you remember that woman that left her child in the car to run in a convenience store and someone jumped in and stole the child? Enjoy your walking I am still laid up and pretty miserable.
ReplyDeleteWhat were they trying to do? Sit by the window to watch the baby? Some people have absolutely no sense. You did the right thing. How many times do we have to be told not to leave a baby in the car?
ReplyDeleteggod for you for turning them in!
ReplyDeleteWhat are the dresses for? They look adorable.
GOOD for you for turning them into the authorities. I once had a neighbor in NJ who had a 10-year-old and a baby. They went out with the 10-year-old and left the baby in the house. I was stunned....and I called and turned them in.....the guy was FURIOUS and said there was no reason he couldn't leave the baby alone as she was too little to get out of the crib and they knew they'd be back before it was time to feed her. GEEZ...how STUPID!!!!! Family services, of course, kept an eye on them after that. I asked the guy how the baby would manage if the house caught on fire while they were gone OR what if they got wiped out in a car accident????? He had no answer for either of those questions.
ReplyDeleteGood for you!! It's really againt the law here in our state!
ReplyDeleteKudos for you, some people have no sense and should not be in charge of the care of children.Yor dresses are coming out great.
ReplyDeleteCan you believe?!?!?!!? I would have done the same thing, except maybe not waited....
ReplyDeleteLeaving a baby in the car?!?!?! Wake the baby up if you are going inside or skip the eat-in restaurant or leave one friend in the car with the baby.
ReplyDeleteI remember once a group of women pulled up in a parking lot of a store with a newborn or very young baby just in their arms. No car seat. I said something to them but of course they thought I was wrong.
Without question, you did the right thing.
ReplyDeleteI really have no pity for those stupid women! I hope the baby is in the care of someone much more responsible. (When you have time I am curious - okay, nosy - about where y'all were having lunch. E-mail me!)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are walking and going to the gym. Keep it up!!! Yay Tonya!
You absolutely did the right thing!! Way to go; there is no shame in looking out for our most vulnerable.
ReplyDeleteLove those little dresses.
You definitely did the right thing...Love your dresses !
ReplyDeleteMicki
Hey Tonya,
ReplyDeletegood for you although you were much cooler than me. I would have gone over to them and had a 'go' at them. How dare they do that. They do not deserve to have the gift of a child. So well done to you and TJ. I hope they get into BIG trouble.
Jan xxx
just remembered I want to make that little dress quilt, trying to get the pattern off the screen hee hee
I love the dresses and the yoyo's......
ReplyDeleteI wouldve called the police too...some people are just plain stupid.....
I don't leave my dog in the car, now I am in Florida we don't get 30's, well not normally but when it is hot my babies are not left in the car by themselves. Some people don't have a brain, its a shame you have to take test to get a drivers license but any idiot can have a baby.
