Vintage Sheet turned Quilt 1
Here ya go, got the top together. And, if I do say so myself. I LOVE IT! One of my readers said it was Holly Hobbie print. Not sure if I spelled the hobby/hobbie right. I do know this sheet is stamped "American Greetings Inc." I have a feeling this is going to take Patches place. Patches is the quilt at the bottom of my blog with E and the hubs. Now, I'm not sure how to quilt this. Any suggestions??
Very cute! I have no clue on how to quilt it. I keep going back and forth on the quilt for my baby. Not sure how to quilt it. After the today, I'm seriously thinking about just tieing it off with some yarn.ReplyDelete
That turned out so neat. How about hand quilting it. Because it's vintage, you'll have to be really careful how you quilt it. Can't wait to hear how you do it. What a wonderful quilt with wonderful memories tied to it.ReplyDelete
Adorable. Yep, that's Holly Hobbie alright.ReplyDelete
I love it, Tonya. I think I'd hand quilt around each of the designs in the block....just kind of a loose "echo" around each one. Then I'd stand back and see what I wanted to hand quilt in the sashing and border. It will take you longer to finish it this way (than by machine) but I think the design calls for hand-quilting. (Bet you're sorry you asked us since two of us have already suggested hand-quilting!!! LOL)ReplyDelete
Hi Tonya. I think this is just precious. I don't necessarily think it needs to be hand quilted. You know, machine quilting is really sophisticated these days. An oval around each Holly Hobbie would be cute. Then you could do a neat scroll down all your sashings and around the borders.ReplyDelete
I am just loving these! I love taking vintage sheets and making new quilts!ReplyDelete
