"I'm seeing stars". How lovely this turned out. Thanks so much to Brown Dirt Cottage and her star tutorial. This was so fun to make. I already had the 2 center stars. Then after her tutorial, I made the top 3 and the bottom 3. I added bunches of extra stitching, (I call it quilting).
I don't have a back on it yet, or binding. I'll have it all finished by tomorrow. I just could not wait to get it posted and to thank Belinda. I sent her an email personally. Gosh, I love you quilting "bloggers".
I love the colors you've chosen. I've also saved the tutorial you used so I can come back to it later. I'm not ready for stars yet but it won't be long!
ReplyDeleteWOW Tonya.....what a 'wiz' you are.....'speedy gonzales'....this is just THE best. Thank you so much for trying out my tutorial. I see that you 'got it'...making sure you have good enough contrast between the two fabrics so your star will show up good. You go girl! I'm going to do a 'short' follow up this morning with some stars I made using different fabric choices.
ReplyDeleteYour stars are goregous! I have to make some of these thanks for the link.. I love the bright colors. I can't wait to get started!
ReplyDeleteI bookmarked that star lesson and need to give it a try really soon! Your piece is WONDERFUL, Tonya.
ReplyDeletethis is beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteI like your stars and I love your choice of colors. Do you normally use bright colors? I am also intrigued by your tool in a previous post.
ReplyDeleteGREAT job on the binding. I love doing it that way...it's my favorite finished look (even though it takes longer than the bindings that are done all by machine). I think this was the right way to go with this quilt. It's such a FUN quilt. Thanks for sharing the picture and the closeup of the binding, too. :)
ReplyDeletenow see....did you think doing your own binding was ok....it looks nice....way to go!!
